error message accessing KMyMoney file using file manager

SUMMARY
I have a KMyMoney file on a thumb drive. The problem is that I can open the
file in KMyMoney only by launching KMyMoney, then opening the file with the
File dialog within KMyMoney. I cannot open the file from File Manager. I cannot
open the file using a symbolic link on my desktop.

The thumb drive is formatted as W95 Fat32 (LBA).

The thumb drive is mounted on a 4-port USB 3.0 hub attached to a USB 3.0 port
on my computer.

My computer is an HP 17-ak000 – 17

It is running Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS

The version of KMyMoney is 5.1.3

The version of KDE is 5.108.0
