I do recall having the same problem in the past - I thought there was a
previous bug about this behavior, but I can't find anything now.  However, it
was mentioned in https://discuss.kde.org/t/actual-development-of-kmymoney/27112
and supposedly fixed, prior to 5.2.1 release.  I cannot replicate this now - in
a checking (Brokerage) account, either when entering a scheduled transaction 
or when saving the file.  Can you please confirm the version displayed in
Help/About KMyMoney...?
