Bug ID: 504114
Summary: Reports: show balance button: can the configure report
button include the start date of the chart
Classification: Applications
Product: kmymoney
Version: 5.1.95
Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: reports
Assignee: kmymoney-devel at kde.org
Reporter: jvapr27 at yahoo.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When you press the 'show balance chart' when you are looking at a ledger, there
is a 'Configure report' button. The button allows you to change a few things
but I was wondering if it can be updated to allow a user to change the date
range.
Use case:
Imagine that at one point the account balance rose to 80,000 but typically the
account has something in the range of 2000-3000 balance. As it is right now,
since it shows the balance since the start of the account, the scale of the
chart will always include the scale to cover the 80,000. But if that spike
happened 3 years ago, I may only want to see the past few years and may want to
exclude that date where the balance was 80k so that I can see the values at the
smaller scale.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Kmy
2. go to a ledger for an account
3. click the show balance chart
4. click the configure report button
OBSERVED RESULT
The chart has a spike that causes it to be less useful for the 'normal'
balance.
If you click the configure report button, it allows certain things but does not
allow to change the date.
EXPECTED RESULT
When clicking on the configure report, can we have the ability to change the
start date of the report/chart?
