I'm still looking at this, with no success.  I do see the qDebug line "Calling
PolarGrid::calculateGrid()" but in gdb I can't seem to set a breakpoint there
which actually breaks.  I can set breakpoints elsewhere, but at some point,
"step" in gdb doesn't go where I would expect it to.
