The problem is that if it can't simply be cherry-picked, then it means a lot of
work to modify it so it can be applied to the 5.1 branch.  This means commit to
that branch is not likely.
There has been no formal announcement (or even final decision) about the
release of 5.2 (which is what the next release, based on master branch will be
called) but the team is trying to do so as soon as possible.  I don't know if
it will be possible to release by end of year, but almost certainly in early
2025.  Any update of this info will certainly appear on the KMM home page (of
the web site, not within the application.)
