I don't have a reference handy, but there has been a previous report that once
you select an item in one of the drop-downs (such as category) whether it is
actually selected depends on how you proceed.  I believe hitting Enter does
select correctly, but just hitting Tab does not.  I can't tell if that's what
you are reporting here, or something else, and I suspect the distinction may be
subtle.
