You have given up using a program because you have run into one unstable
version?  Or is there more history here?
I'm curious why you are using the AppImage instead of the Kubuntu packaged
version.  
Have you tried any other appimage version?  The appimage versions are daily
builds and do sometimes have problems.  If you're using the latest, try the
previous day.
