So you can open and save a local file, but on the network, you need to save to
a new name?  What type of network share is it?  I'm wondering if it might be a
file locking problem.  Do you get any error when it fails to simply save?

The debug version will not help here.  That is useful if you get a crash, as it
includes debug symbols in the executable, so you can actually get a useful
backtrace.  With no crash, it doesn't provide any additional information.
