I don't think this is just for VAT splits.  Any split transaction shows the
same problem.  (I used to sometimes see the details in a popup when hovering
the mouse over the transaction in the ledger, but I don't see it at all
recently, and it was never consistent.)  A similar issue is when looking at
investment transactions in the brokerage account - it says "Investment
transaction" instead of giving any of the details such as investment
transaction type.
