Sorry, I was looking at the "Windows MinGW 32/64bit (cross compiled)" which
points to 5.0.6.  You are right: from 4.8 to 5.0 is a major step.

Information is available and people have provided builds for Windows in the
past. This happened on a rather irregular basis, though. Building the project
is not just a press of a button but a more complex operation. So we need
resources/people who can do and maintain that. Do you know anyone?

So your desire for a Windows installer version is more of a wish than a bug :)
and believe me, I do understand your frustration.
