If you run from command line "kmymoney -n" and then close the program without
opening a file, does it still crash when launching from the KDE menu?  

If it does not crash when run from command line, but does crash when launched
from the menu, I suspect a packaging issue, and would report it to the openSUSE
bug list.  We can leave open here pending further investigation.
