has the ACCTTYPE set to MONEYMRKT and KMM only shows me my brokerage accounts
unless I run a sed command on the file to change ACCTTYPE to SAVINGS."

I'm not sure of the best interface for this - as we do not want to show a long
list of accounts if it is not necessary, but we do want to avoid the problem of
this bug.  What about using the current filter, but adding a checkbox or button
to that dialog saying "If you do not see the account you want to import into,
click here to see account of other types, which may include your desired
account." ?
