Version 5.0 contains a 'Copy splits' function in the transaction context menu
which does just that. It is available if you select a transaction with multiple
splits and one that has none or only one split assigned. That amounts of the
splits will stay as they are. In case that fulfills your needs please resolve
this entry as fixed.
