Please remember that the announcement did not have been released

Thanks to the mentioned bug report I am now aware that the kmymoney tar
ball seems to be different to umbrello (which I released the last 2
years) because umbrello is in the public KDE Applications release cycle,
which provides the translations separatly from umbrello. After looking
into the kmymoney 4.8.0 tarball it turns out that it contains the
translations for the application.

This time is over in case you can run a command from linux command line
named osc. Additional if you have a Windows virtual machine on the linux
host you can map the related dir from the linux machine to the guest and
directly run the compiled application.

The tarball is a raw copy from the kmymoney git repo and the
translations are added only for generating the binary translation into a
package named mingw32-kmymoney-lang (see
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/windows:mingw:win32/mingw32-kmymoney/fetch-translations?expand=1,
which is used in
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/windows:mingw:win32/mingw32-kmymoney/mingw32-kmymoney.spec?expand=1
line 120) similar to what happens with opensuse kmymoney package
building on linux.

Please remember that all previous kmymoney source tarballs only include
the translations for the application no documentation and I guess this
should nor be changed inside a stable release.
bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385167 is therefore a feature
request wanting doc translations in the source tarball.

yes, I already build that somewhere, but it is not ready for usage, may
be with 4.8.2 and it depends on having up to date translations which is
not the case now.

I agree

I already filed a sysadmin request to update the source tar ball
https://phabricator.kde.org/T7093 but ... and I will release a source
tarball with the same content as the 4.8.0 tar ball.

Because we learned now that 4.8.0  tarball does not contains doc
translations and 4.8.1 will also do so,  this is not required. I simply
update the tarball with the app translations.
> If not, then checking with the translation teams would be a good idea.
This is always a good idea as there are some translations incomplete as
stated above.

Ben Cooksley mentioned in the sys admin request not to use different tar
balls
It can be upload in tar.xz and 7z format to make all people happy
