You asked whether the new kde-pim was finished already. The situation is the 
old releases receive no further updates and are not packaged by distributions 
either.

There are some critical fixes (like this one: [1]) which might be backported by 
KDE devs but packagers probably won't cherry pick single commits and re-number 
and re-release EOL products.
