Yes!

I saw that conversation about #349027 and wondered how that QIF entry looks 
like. Maybe you can ask for it in the b.k.o entry. 

What I can assume is, that there is payee information and a previous transfer 
to that payee exists in that account which is then used as template for the 
freshly downloaded transaction (part of matching the transaction). Usually, 
there is no category information in the file downloaded from the bank (unless 
someone proves me wrong). Unless there is a bug in the QIF importer ... I 
wrote this stuff so many years ago that I don't remember all the details.
