The schema I added there should represent the issue quite well.
In KMyMoney a class called ```MyMoneyDbDriver``` is used to handle different behavior of the database management systems. You'll see it has a child for each supported RDMBS. During the start of the connection the right version is stored in ```MyMoneyStorageSql::m_driver```.
