I tried to duplicate the problem but it works for me. Lets get some more
details about your environment. I have here:

thb at thb-nb:~$ kde4-config --version
Qt: 4.8.5
KDE Development Platform: 4.11.5

Style: Oxygen

I wonder about the style setting, because the crash happens to be in that area.
Can that make a difference?
