Thank you so much.
It is the second time you solve, at ligth speed, my problem (first was about online update quote). I would never have had this service with MS.
Once I have finished migration and tests, I promise to make a donation to the organization of geniuses who develop KMM .
Thank you again

So far I have been really impressed by the professional design of KMyMymoney which I find in many respects easier (more logical) to use than MSMoney. However I am now stucked on a trivial problem. I have searched the user manual (again a top quality document) and found exactly the answer to my question on page 71 § 11.5.4 :

You can enter any two of these, and KMyMoney will calculate the third. It's usually best to enter just the total amount and the number of shares, because these are the known facts of the transaction. The price per share can be calculated from these.

That is I can only enter the number of shares and the price per share and KMyMoney calculates the total amount (no input box available for total amount, cf. attached capture). This is not convenient as the manual witfully points out : "It's usually best to enter just the total amount and the number of shares, because these are the known facts of the transaction". It is practically impossible by trial an error to find the correct price per share that gives the exact total amount stated on my bank account.

No, it's not a silly question, and there is a simple answer.
If you open the investment/stock for editing, at the foot of the
Investment Details window, open the Price entry drop-down and select
'Total for all shares'. When you create your transaction, in 'Price',
enter the total amount, and enter the quantity. The price will be
calculated for you.
