I think the bug is triggered by transactions without an associated category. As
there is no direct way anymore to enter a transaction without a category, I
suggest you try the following:

1. Import a transaction from a CSV file, for example the spaces.csv mentioned
in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333911 (importing instructions are
given in the bug description)
2. Go to ledgers and view the transaction.

If it doesn't show the transaction type as 'Transfer', then the bug is indeed
fixed.
