Could you start KMyMoney from a terminal, 'kmymoney' and provide the console
output from the program.  It may help to determine the stage it reaches.

What size is the QIF file?  Sometimes it's helpful to do the import in stages,
if your file is on the large size.  Was it your complete Quicken file?  Could
you try exporting from Quicken just a few accounts at first.
