Glad you found your way through.
http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/FAQ#Q:_How_can_I_export_data.3F has more on
exporting.
If you have time, and if you haven't already tried this, could you run KMyMoney
from the command line - kmymoney -n - then select your original gnucash
file and see if any console output sheds any line on your data issue. I think
there was a problem with an investment price or quantity.
