Could you check what happens if you remove the setMinimumSize  statement? My
experience with the font used by you was that without the patch the application
was very wide (around 1400px) but with the patch the minimum width was reduced
to around 800px.

I wouldn't be sure that the minimum size of the ledger in the screen shot is
given by the account selector. Maybe it's given by some other widget and since
the account selector has a larger stretch factor it's larger then it's minimum
size.
