So from your post it seems that there is an empty file instead of you original
KMyMoney file. From your description this happened one day when you opened
KMyMoney and it asked you to create a new file. Did you save the file after
this? Since you did not have a backup I guess that your data is really lost,
I'm sorry about that but I really don't have any ideas what could have
