I'll add to this, and request that if I delete a payee, and assign its
transactions to another payee, then that payee should be selected in the payee
view after deletion.  

Problem:  I realize that the payee the transactions are assigned to may not be
displayed according to the filter.  If the filter is dropped so the payee can
be displayed - that negates my request above.  Could it be possible to select
that payee, but not display it due to the filter?

This clearly needs more thought and discussion before any decision.
