First of all: relax!
There's no problem with the license as KDChart is dual-licensed. See the file
LICENSE.GPL which you also find in our copy of the code.
Why do we have our copy of the lib? Well, in the past we used the KDE
repository version, but that did not get shipped as separate package and you
had to install all of KOffice to get it just so that you could compile
KMyMoney. Also, at one point, the KDChart devs changed something which broke
our code and that just a few days before a release.
So we ended up to have our own copy of the code, which we gently touch
whereever necessary to make it compile in our environment. But we agreed on
the fact that we don't do bugfixes on it. AFAIR, the only change needed was in
the build stuff but not the actual source. SVN has more information on that.
Please dig the logs for yourself.
We report bugs to the upstream project, and Alvaro was taking care of this in
the past. I am not sure if he already mentioned this one or not to them.
Maybe, he can comment here.
Every now and then, we sync with the KOffice repo part. Not sure, when we have
done that last and if it makes sense to repeat it. If you want to check it
out, please feel free to do so. Maybe, the bug that annoys you is already
fixed.
