This could be caused by the failure to load the css file which is used in the
home and reports page.
Since this operation is controlled by code in kdelibs we can't do much about
it.

I can suggest the following:
when you experience these issues you could try running 'kdeinit4 --terminate'
while kmymoney is not running and start kmymoney after that.
