I was thinking more of users on gnome systems.  But then, there may not
be any!

It's quite weird!  I've even tried specifying the swindow position with
a move().

The first two of a series of transactions display where I specified, but
then off they go to the top-left again.  There is a pattern to it, but I
can't see why.

I'm back on KWin and awaiting developments.  There were crashes withKWin
that others have experienced going back some way without a fix, as well
as the go slows.

If there's more trouble, I might try a different distro, or swapping the
video card out and using the embedded one.
