Interesting.  It now works OK for me.  The starting size for the dialog is
good, and there seems to be a minimum size I can shrink it to, which is too
small to see enough of the field values, but still doesn't get scroll bars.

I wonder if this difference is due to screen resolution - although 1024 seems
like it should be enough.
