I've tried Enter, Space, and a variety of other keys - no luck.  Single click
works fine.  The keyboard seems to work fine in other views.

Also - I don't know if it's related, but if I switch to payee view from ledger,
the payee detail pane shows part of the ledger until I select a payee, instead
of immediately clearing that part of the screen.
