There are a number of possibilities:
1. You compiled with the wrong installation prefix
2. You don't have the oxygen icons installed, which are used by the
application.
3. You didn't install the application after compiling
4. All of the above

Why didn't you use the version found in the Packman repositories? Isn't there
one for 11.3?
