Hi Alvaro

Ah, well, there's a problem there.  That source code is almost identical
to the plugin, which I'm presently working on.  In fact, I was using the
same code, with some ifdefs, etc. in, but Cristian thought it best to
remove them and abandon the stand-alone version.

So, it's in the throws of reconstruction at the moment, I'm afraid. 
Once the plugin is accepted, the stand-alone can probably be dropped.
