[Kmymoney-devel] Problem with duplicate investment

Good afternoon.

I think this is related to a problem that has been discussed in the  
past, but I don't recall if there was a "good" solution.

I have two investment accounts.  I happen to have an investment that  
occurs in both accounts.  I suppose it would be more accurate to say  
that I have an investment in each account for the same underlying  
security.

I recently entered a transaction for that investment in the wrong  
account.  I selected the transaction, and moved it to the other  
account.  When I checked my investments in the other account, it showed  
two copies of this security.  What I finally did was to edit the  
transaction, and try selecting each of the versions of the name until I  
found the one (I guessed wrong the first time - so I had to try twice)  
that put a 0 balance for one of the entries, which I was then able to  
delete.

Question - when moving a transaction between investment accounts, if  
the security already exists in the "to" account, would it be reasonable  
to either use it, or ask the user if he wants a new investment created?

I'll be glad to file an official enhancement request - but thought I'd  
check here first for any comments.
