I noticed some major architectural problems with it when I looked at it 
several versions ago, but I haven't really tracked the progress there.

From a quick look now it seems that the structures that they're using are 
still overly rigid and not particularly efficient.  The APIs also pretty 
ugly.  At any rate though -- it's not particularly useful for me to review 
Kat's design here -- suffice it to say that there's quite a bit of cleaning 
that will be useful.
