Hi!

Not only is it time to click this button, we are also going to need more
mentors. Google wants not just one, but TWO backup mentors for each
proposal. Please mail, using your gmail address, Valorie and ask to
become a mentor if you've not already done so (unless you're going to be
a student, of course!).

Until the student deadline, you can use "want to mentor" to signify the
student(s) who show enough promise that you would consider selecting
them. This does not mean that you *will* mentor them or select them.

Once we finalize our selection, at that point you will be committed.
I've asked for more backup mentors to join us, as the GSoC admins want
*two* backup mentors this year per student, considering the shaky
reality of the pandemic. Please encourage your team mates to step up and
volunteer. One person will be able to back up more than one student if
necessary, but we do need more, or we will not be able to get many
"slots".

I'm happy to say that I've only had to "ignore" one so-called proposal
so far. We have 28 proposals so far and if you have not yet commented on
the ones you may mentor yet, please do that soon. Both the students and
your fellow mentors need to see your feedback.

Thank you,

Valorie
