Summer of Code is not an internship! Yes, you will be working with a mentor,
and you'll learn a lot, but you should already know how to code. It's more a
summer job than an internship.

In the first place, you need to show us that you can code: at least three
patches to Krita before the application period has ended, and they need to be
serious patches, not one-liners. You also need to show yourself to the
community, here, but also on irc. And you need to start with doing some work
to investigate the problem area.

"Guide me" is not the right approach: show us that you can do stuff on your
own, take initiative, show that you have digged in and grasped what the
project is about. There will be no hand-holding!
