GSoC Proposal - review

hi everyone i done building krita on mu ubuntu 13.04 now i want to work on
brush engine so how can i view source code of krita (many many thanks to
david revoy for his guide) i want to know the step of developing in krita
and i i want to know that only require qt or other software how to install
it on linux or any other precaution i should take?
my final goal is to make new brush or plug-ins for krita
want to know starting step and technical knowledge links.
