No -- nobody is working on that. The best way to keep in touch with the project is by joining the kimageshop at kde.org mailing list and the #krita irc channel. See http://krita.org/join-krita/join. I try to answer all my mail, but I can be tardy -- like this week, I'm sick, so my mail is heaping up.
