Hi everyone,

I totally agree.

For instance, since Gimp 2.8 has a new amazing revamped text-tool, by comparison, the one available with Krita looks even worse :-)
*Joking* aside, I suppose it would take a lot of work to *really* improve the text tool on Krita.

As regards Gimp 2.8, the text tool, which was available with Gimp 2.6, has been completely overhauled by a student, during an entire Google of Summer code.

On top of this, later, Michael Natterer (aka Mitch), a Gimp developer, improved this tool further a LOT after this Gsoc.

This year there was another Google of Summer Code to improve the text tool on Inkscape but, from what I have gathered, it looks like this student did not pass the first examination :-(

Best regards,

Silvio Grosso
