Hi Francisco,

First of all, Best of luck for your summer of code project! :-)

Just a question. It looks like there are no other softwares which already implement this "sand brush engine". Is it so?

I have tried to "google" a bit but I didn't found any reference to any other sofware (only some tutorials to "fake" this effect).

Needless to say, It would be awesome whether Krita might be the first software to have such magnificent feature :-)

Hello everyone!
My name is Francisco Fernandes and I'm a computational geometry studentin the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN in portuguese), here in Brazil. 

In the next months I'll be coding for Krita in this year GSoC. 

I proposed a sandpainting brush, more specifically in the aspects of

grain interaction. When we speak about sandpainting, the most relevant
aspect is the dynamic movements of the artist, leaving the color with a less important role. In this project I'll be focused exactly inthe dynamic movements of the painter and it's effects in the sand, since


I believe I would need more time to deal with the volumetric and thecolor aspects of the brush. 
My official mentor in this journey is Pentalis, whom helped me a lot in the


conception of the idea. Probably I could not have done this project withouthis support.
Anyway, thank you all to give me this opportunity to be part of the Krita 

community and I hope that my efforts help to improve it.
