Circle is also irrelevant to what will be painted. What if the brush is
rectangular? The precision, which is needed in some cases, is lost.

I propose to improve our algorithm for brush outline detection (the
shape is sometimes incorrect)
and explore how other software behaves (Photoshop, Gimp painter)

I have solution for sketch brush: two circles will be done as outline:
one for the size of the stroke and one dashed for the detection area

Regarding the size it is quite complicated to show the size
when you just hover the canvas as there is no pressure
from tablet to show the size or better said sensors are not
activated at all and they don't get pressure information when hovering.

What is other software doing with the size btw?
