The only solution that will not be very painful is one without any svn as 
main branch. So everyone should regard the git tree as *the* original koffice 
sources. Optionally with copying stuff back to svn for people that just 
compile but never commit.

For that to happen a lot of services need to be made available on gitorious 
that are KDE only. Someone should do a proper conversion including branches 
and tags of koffice and lots of tiny little things.
And this is sadly where this is stuck. There is a nice but incomplete list 
of things to be done, and nobody is really doing them. Too busy with other 
stuff.
