GSoC09 question

Hello everyone, 

My name is Vera and I'm interested in an idea posted on Google Summer of Code website: the Sketch-pad interface for Krita. I love drawing and I understand the need to be able to do quick sketches digitally. Would anyone know approximately how much of a workload this project might be? I'm a pretty good coder, but I'm taking 2 summer courses, so I'd like to know if this could be a feasible "part-time" project.
