You can build Krita with Qt4.3 (I just did it this afternoon). But you need to 
use kdelibs/kdebase from branch ( in svn URL replace 'trunk/KDE' 
by 'branches/KDE/4.0/' ). Personnaly I even still use a "beta" of kdelibs 4.0 
withouth any problem.
