Then I don't get it :-( I've tried the gimp and I've tried karbon2 and 
photoshop -- and none of them allow me to draw freehand in between adding 
nodes to a path. In fact, photoshop even tells me I cannot draw freehand with 
the pixel freehand too after having added a couple of vectors. It tells 
me "the layer is not directly editable".
