GSoc 2007 : become a mentor !

Hello,

Google has release the list of projects, and KDE has been selected :/ It would
be a really good idea if more KOffice developers could register as mentor for
this year edition (see
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Summer_of_Code/2007/Participation#Subscribing_as_mentor
for instructions).

There are quiet a few reasons why mentoring is a good idea:
- it's fun :)
- having a lot of mentors show to google (and kde) that koffice developers
care
- it's not that time consuming, it's not the mentor who writes the code, the
job of the mentor is to help the student to integrate in the project
(community and API wise), the mentor shouldn't be the only one to answer the
student questions
- having someone external to the project diving into the code helps us to
improve the API
- it's mentors who selected projects (well google gives his opinion too, but
most of the time they follow what the opinion of mentors), and who is better
suited to have an opinion on KOffice related projects than KOffice
developers ?

But don't subscribe as a mentor if you really think you will have absolutely
neither the time or the patience to deal with a student.
