Okay... I was hoping to use it to speed up composition by working only on the 
intersection of the region with real tiles & the composition region. But if 
it's going to be slow it may not be worth it.

Yes, I realize that. It's just that I'm working on the projection, and having 
the possibility of not iterating over areas that are empty anyway would be 
pretty cool.
