Personally I'm fine with people just adding Krita to their toolbox -- I've got 
the Gimp installed myself, too. (Mostly to crib features from or check 
whether or how something works in the Gimp, but still...)

Anyway, in 1.6 you can start painting outside the image area, and in 2.0 
there's always a border outside the image -- so there is progress :-). I'll 
check the crop tool, it can't be too hard, and we really need to fix it good.
