I'll be patiently waiting near my inbox :-). Seriously, I can wait a month or 
two, there's enough on Krita's todo as it is. But don't forget about it 
either for that matter, because I'm very curious.

That's very impressive, I would have expected all kinds of endianness issues 
to start with.
