I can save and load in 1.1 and 1.3. The only thing that does not work is 
loading of templates.
The problem with the unknown filetype was fixed by Adrian.

The menu is not disabled yet (at least here)
We can disable the menu so that no new images inside the image can be created 
and remove the rest after 1.4
